On Saturday afternoon, also at home, the X-Men secured a 91-72 win over the visiting UPEI Panthers. Tyler Richards led the X-Men in scoring with 23 points and also had 8 assists and 2 steals. Dwayne Johnson scored 19 points and had 11 rebounds. Luiz Toledo scored 16 points, had 10 rebounds and 3 blocked shots for X and T-Bear Upshaw scored 14 points. Replying for the Panthers was Brent McLaren who led UPEI scorers with 22 points, with Jonathan Cooper scoring 18. First quarter scoring was close with the X-Men having a one point edge, 21-20. The X-Men outscored their opponents 17-11 in the second quarter to establish a 38-31 half-time lead and continued to outscore the Panthers for the remaining two frames.
