Three national championships take centre stage on SSN

- March 11 2010

The Streaming Sports Network (SSN Canada) will provide live coverage of three Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) national championships this week starting today with the start of the women's hockey championship in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

SSN will also be airing games from the CIS men's volleyball championship in Kamloops, British Columbia and the CIS women's basketball championship in Hamilton, Ontario.

The coverage will feature all championship-bracket games at each of the three venues.

At the women's hockey championship the defending champions from McGill University will be the team to beat. The Martlets are attempting to become only the second team in CIS history to win three straight national titles.

Out West in Kamloops it is another Quebec-based school that assumes the mantle of favourites at the men's volleyball championship. The Laval Rouge et Or are attempting to become the first school from outside Canada West to win the title since 1994.

Hamilton will be the site of Simon Fraser's final CIS championship appearance before switching over to the NCAA next season. The defending champion Clan claimed their first of five Bronze Baby trophies at McMaster University in 2002.
